— As Daniela Papi-Thornton framed it, “We’ve entered an era of heropreneurship, where reverence for the heroic social entrepreneur has led countless people to pursue a career path that promises opportunities to save the world, gain social status, and earn money, all at the same time.”
Heropreneurship can act as a dangerous driver for a lack of wellbeing among social entrepreneurs, causing burn out, anxiety and a constant feeling of busyness. We want to break the myth of the Hero Entrepreneur by discussing the importance of wellbeing, as a pre-condition for long term impact.

As an international community, Social Impact Award puts a lot of emphasis on the wellbeing of young social entrepreneurs. By design, we integrate different elements throughout the incubation phase, so that we help our finalists & alumni develop a culture of wellbeing, for themselves and for their ventures.
In order to celebrate that, during the event we will also introduce the 15 SIA Finalists of Romania and we will share the amazing experiences we have prepared for their learning journey with SIA 2019.
— Social Impact Award, founded in 2009, runs education and incubation programs in more than 17 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia to support early-stage social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative business solutions to tackle the most important societal challenges of our times. We do so by hosting events and organizing workshops to raise awareness for social entrepreneurship, teaching the necessary skills to navigate from vague intentions to promising ventures, providing access to networks and promoting the best teams with the Social Impact Award.
In Romania, Social Impact Award is co-organised by Universitatea Alternativă, Social Innovation Solutions and Global Shapers Bucharest Hub, with the support of our sponsors, BCR and Enel România. Event Partners: Maastricht School of Management Romania
